Our values

Mission

We have three core mission statements that represent our values:

We will make our customers' lives easier by being flexible, capable and easy to work with.
We will be a great workplace - even if most of our team works remotely - where our team members trust and can have fun with each other.
We will strive to be the best at what we do. Our customers should never doubt that they're getting the best code possible, and we will educate our team continuously to make sure they are always on top of their game.

In 2015, all 193 Member States of the United Nations adopted a plan for achieving a better future for all. In order to address the global challenges we face, 17 Sustainable Development Goals were executed. These goals instruct countries, companies and individuals to take action against poverty, inequality, climate change, and environmental degradation, and enforce peace and justice.

We at Viking Software of course always encourage each other to do our part as individuals of being mindful of all 17 goals in our work- and private life. As a company, we do direct work to improve world sustainability in the following 4 areas:

Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world.

In Viking Software, we take gender equality very seriously. Software engineering is a predominantly male field, so we do what we can to have a diverse team in spite of this. This is evident in our administration, which is presently 75% female and 25% male, as well as our board of directors, which is 40% female and 60% male.

Sustained and inclusive economic growth can drive progress, create decent jobs for all and improve living standards.

Our policy is to work under the principle “Equal pay for equal work”. That means a person’s gender, health and background will not in any way influence their salary and other jobrelated benefits, and all employees will have the same opportunities in the company.

Economic and social progress over the last century has been accompanied by environmental degradation that is endangering the very systems on which our future development — indeed, our very survival — depends.

As a small company providing services rather than goods, we don’t have much consumption in the first place. When we can, we try to limit consumption of especially electricity, using only lights and electronics when absolutely necessary. We also…
